Where It All Began
(Why I build this home spa)
My background
I bring 16 years of experience in some of Canada’s most famous high-end spas such as the Willow Stream Spa at Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, so I know a thing or two about the practitioner’s role in a client’s self-care. For hundreds of people, I have supported the process of healing from stress, fatigue, and sometimes loss. Spa treatments can bring a healing touch; they can help bring people back into their bodies and make them feel restored.

My healing journey
In the last 10 years, my husband and I have been through a very difficult journey with fertility issues and grief from multiple miscarriages. In this, I know I am not alone and I want to reach out to others who share this experience. To support my healing journey, I took on a big project – to turn my basement into a sanctuary of calm and serenity. The whole design was developed to create a space where my clients could rejuvenate body and souls. And when you come in, you can feel it. I invite you to bring in your grief and together we will support your healing journey – from a place of shared experience and knowledge.

About the spa
The doors on Debby’s Boutique Spa are open and you’re invited in for an experience you’ll want again and again. It feels like the high-end spaces in which I’ve worked my entire career.
Luxury is the theme – with a Tiffany bar and an impressive collection of luxury shopping bags – Louis Vitton, Chanel, and others. This aesthetic is reflective of the expertise I gained when I became a collector and reseller of luxury purses (the project I took on after my second MC). I met some lovely purse ladies around the world. When they learned of my dream to open a private luxury spa, they sent me shopping bags to decorate. That’s the kind of generosity and soul that contributed to the development of this special space.
